Dernet nog een kijkje gaan nemen bij kameraad Nicodemus van eskimokaka punt bee ee, en getrakteerd op onderstaande quote :

Na telefonisch contact is gebleken dat one dot com, de registrar en huidige hostingprovider, basically de site heeft platgelegd wegens iets aangaande sql -load, en kameraad Nicodemus heeft hetvolgende advies gekregen : los het probleem op, stuur ons een mail met de oplossing en dan zullen we bekijken of we de site terug online zetten. Ik dacht meteen aan een artikel van vanochtend inzake de load sites kunnen veroorzaken, maar das niet aan de orde momenteel. One.com wil nu dat hun probleem voor hen wordt opgelost, met andere woorden ze weten zelf niet wat er aan de hand is. Logische keuze van kameraad Nicodemus is het verhuizen naar een andere hostingprovider; met name Dailyrazor, maar daarbij hoort ook een aanpassing van de verschillende ns-records, zodat de registrar correct kan verwijzen naar de nieuwe hosting.
En dan komt One dot com met het meest kafkaiaanse antwoord van allemaal : dat moet de nieuwe hosting-provider doen. Het nieuwe adres moet er zelf voor zorgen dat alle post van het oude adres wordt doorgestuurd…
ik hoop dat demus snel uit de shit is.

Dikke shit inderdaad. Nu, wat betreft de domeinnaam kan het wel zijn dat ze niet aan DNS-hosting doen (als je niet bij hen de site host) en dan moet er inderdaad ergens anders aan DNS gedaan worden.

nope, one.com is zowel registrar als hosting-provider, dus zelfs al doen ze zelf de dns-hosting niet voor de domeinen die bij hen geregistreerd zijn en ook gehost worden (lijkt me straf) dan nog kunnen ze onmogelijk stellen dat de nieuwe hosting-provider de dns verwijzing maar moet aanpassen, want momenteel staat die verwijzing gericht op one.com. En opdat DR dat zou kunnen wijzigen zou elke provider aan de ns instellingen van elke andere provider moeten kunnen. Aks deze dystopiaanse logica doorgetrokken wordt begin ik vandaag nog een hosting provider en gaat het internationale internetgebeuren er wel degelijk even anders uitzien….

Euhm, is het niet dns.be die moet weten waar de nameservers staan? Dus moet DNS.be niet verwittigd worden? En moet dus daarom de nieuwe hoster niet een aanvraag starten bij DNS.be tot overzetten (dat de eigenaar van de URL dan moet goedkeuren)?
Het maakt niet uit of one.com het in hun nameservers heeft staan of niet, als DR het in hun nameservers heeft staan, en DNS.be zegt dat de nameservers van DR de juiste zijn, dan zullen die van DR gebruikt worden.

je hebt het juist, maar one.com is registrar bij dns, dus het domein “staat” bij hen (“naar” hen eigenlijk) en zolang je niet van registrar verandert moet je aan de vorige registrar doorgeven waarheen jouw domein moet verwijzen. De nameservers staan idd bij dns.be, maar one.com is erkend dns registrar, dus ik ben er niet zeker van of je rechtstreeks naar dns.be kan gaan. Update volgt als nieuwe post.

Ik denk dat ik het probleem begin te zien. Een agent kan enkel de switch aanvragen bij DNS.be want, ik denk dat je gelijk hebt, je kan niet bij DNS.be zelf aankloppen. En als DR geen agent is bij DNS.be kan ik inderdaad mij een probleem voor de geest halen.
